On June 25, Cornerstone youth orchestra took the stage of the world-renowned Berliner Philharmonie, presenting a powerful joint performance with the prestigious Berliner Symphoniker.
The evening’s program opened with Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Op. 62 and Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, Op. 11, concluding with a powerful performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92.
All works were conducted by Maestro Hojin Jeong, whose precise and inspiring leadership brought cohesion and brilliance to the performance.
This year, twenty-nine CCAS student musicians, four CCAS faculty mentors, and Director Cho traveled to Berlin.
This initiative reflects our commitment to an education that nurtures both artistic excellence and personal growth. More than a performance, the experience offered our young musicians a powerful opportunity to grow and discover their voice on a global stage.
Through music, they explored their identity and stepped confidently into the international conversation as performers as well as emerging artists and individuals.

Maestro Hojin Jeong: Renowned for his meticulous rehearsal techniques and steady command of the podium, Maestro Jeong drew high praise for bringing out the full potential of the young musicians. “This was about more than just a concert,” he shared. “I wanted to give these students a true collaborative experience at the very heart of the classical music world.”
Hornist Jaehyung Kim: Featured soloist Jaehyung Kim, currently Associate Principal Horn of the Mainz Philharmonic Orchestra, delivered a deeply expressive performance of Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1. His rich tone and emotional depth resonated powerfully with the audience, earning enthusiastic acclaim.
At CCAS, our Vision Trips take students on a journey of discovery and service. These experiences push students out of their comfort zones, inviting them to immerse themselves in new cultures and work on projects that have real impact.
As they build meaningful connections and tackle challenges, students return not only with a deeper understanding of the world but also with a renewed sense of purpose. These trips are about shaping leaders who will continue to create change, wherever life takes them.

The Tanzania Camp offers students a unique blend of service and adventure, with opportunities to make a difference through educational volunteering, mural painting, and hands-on labor in both Arusha and Zanzibar.
Along these meaningful activities, students will also experience the stunning landscapes of Tanzania, from safaris in Ngorongoro to marine activities along the coast. This camp combines impactful service with the chance to explore the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s natural wonders, making it an unforgettable journey of growth and discovery.
In Cambodia, nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia, students will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful service. They will lead a camp at a local school and take part in impactful programs such as children’s ministry, village celebrations, and cultural performances.
These experiences, and the people they meet along the way, will open their hearts and minds to deeper values that transcend borders. Through this vision camp, students will not only contribute to the local community but also gain life-changing insights that will guide them long after their return.
The Nepal Vision Camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful service and cultural exchange. A key component of the camp is the educational volunteering at local school, where students connect with local children through teaching and interactive activities, fostering a spirit of giving and community support.
The camp also includes visits to the South Korean Embassy and the UN Office in Nepal, providing insights into international diplomacy and development efforts. Students also explore Kathmandu and Ramechhap, gaining firsthand experience of Nepal's diverse culture while continuing their commitment to volunteering and service within the local community.
