Welcome to CCAS, the home of Motoongees!

The name "Cornerstone" refers to Jesus Christ, who, as the Bible teaches, connects us as a community. It reflects our commitment to faith and our educational vision to play a vital role in uniting people and the world, just as Christ did. As the scripture says, “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20).

We are dedicated to fostering individual student growth through an English-centered education while cultivating a Christian community rooted in faith and love. Our goal is not to create a place driven by competition for worldly success, but rather a cherished environment where students learn to respect and love one another.

We emphasize holistic education, focusing on developing diligence, responsibility, empathy, and communication skills. With these values, students can positively impact their families and contribute to a better world.

Looking ahead, we will continue, with prayer and dedication, to nurture students into global leaders who are equipped with the skills and influence needed in today’s world, grounded in a Christian worldview shaped by the Bible.

EVENT | Koinonia Camp

Koinonia means “community” in Greek. In the Bible, it is a term used to describe “the relationship between God and humans” as well as “the relationship among humans.” It is a three-day two-night camp held once a year to deepen Christian commitment; it establishes friendships within the Cornerstone community and intensifies our relationship with God. The ultimate goal of the camp is for CCAS, as a community, to confess our faith and identity in God and acknowledge that God is the one who has cared for us and led us to where we are now. With praise and worship at the camp’s core, the students can experience a variety of team activities and are given time to reflect on themselves as well as the whole community of CCAS. Koinonia Camp is a place to experience firsthand the beliefs stated in our mission statement, make meaningful and worthwhile lives, and positively influence others. All students and staff members must attend, and this annual event serves as a directing point for Cornerstone.

PROGRAM | Afternoon Enrichment

Afternoon Enrichment program is designed to extend learning opportunities beyond the regular hours, offering students a variety of educational and enrichment activities. This program aims to support students in reinforcing their academic skills, exploring new interests, and developing hobbies in a structured yet relaxed environment. From academic tutoring to arts, our offerings cater to a wide range of interests, promoting holistic development and providing a safe, engaging space for students to thrive after the day ends.

PROGRAM | Daily Bread

Based on a Christian worldview, students participate in Daily Bread sessions once s a week, following a curriculum focused on education of spirituality. The term "Daily Bread" comes from a part of the prayer taught by Jesus in Matthew 6, symbolizing hope that the shared messages during these 20-minute periods serve as daily spiritual nourishment. Themes vary by day, including connecting Bible verses to students' lives, integrating students' concerns with biblical messages through requested songs, and character-building tales that weave Christian principles with engaging stories. These sessions foster a sense of community among students and between students and teachers, linking their lives and faith in a meaningful way.

CURRICULUM | Assessments

The assessment is an essential component of the planning, implementation, and evaluation. It is a formally and informally collected method of gathering information that allows teachers to measure student progress against predetermined benchmarks, reflect on their own teaching strategies, and determine what students know and understand, what they have learned, and what they can do. Effective evaluations are constructive and supportive of student learning and instruction.

NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) | The MAP was designed to be used by students for kindergarten through 12th-grade students, underlining the importance of tracking progress to improve education in general. The tests are assessed reading, language usage, math, and, for some grades, general sciences. The MAP Growth provides each child with a unique testing experience that is suitable for his or her academic level, independent of grade. This makes the MAP different from other standardized tests that you or your child may have seen in the past and makes it even more important to be familiar with the test’s format and changing difficulty level before test day. The test is untimed but it usually takes about an hour to complete. The MAP test is a growth chart. It shows how much he or she has grown from one year to the next. Normally students will be ideally tested in Fall, Winter, and Spring. So, we recommend taking the MAP test twice a year, and up to four times a year.
Interim Assessments: During the academic year, teachers conduct ongoing assessments to measure students' understanding of the curriculum presented. This process involves evaluating the depth of students' knowledge and skills in relation to the material taught. Based on these evaluations, teachers can predict the students' proficiency levels, identifying both strengths and areas needing improvement. This approach not only tracks progress but also guides instructional strategies to enhance learning outcomes.

CURRICULUM | ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE (EAL)

English as an Additional Language (EAL) program is designed to help students learning English as their second or additional language become fluent and confident in both academic and social contexts. It offers a practical approach to language learning, with interactive lessons, activities, and personalized support. EAL teachers focus on effective communication and ensure each student is equipped to participate fully in school life. The program integrates English learning with the general curriculum, enabling EAL students to improve their language skills while keeping pace with their studies.

EVENT | 3E DAY

Students are encouraged to dive into their areas of interest, embarking on a journey of self-discovery to uncover their passions and envision their future careers. The event spans a wide array of fields, all under the guidance of professionals. These experiences open the gateway to new possibilities, offering our students a foundational understanding of diverse disciplines. We believe such explorations are crucial in helping students craft their future paths and aspire to see them evolve into positive societal contributors, driven by their passions.
